Kai has just tested positive for herpes, and breaks the news to his girlfriend, Min, who then goes for a test. With the spectre of infidelity looming large over the couple, the teenagers confront fears and uncertainties as they transit into adulthood.
November is filled with cutting, realistic dialogue – also partly due to the improvised acting. With its dynamic cinematography, this atmospheric short film captures the realities and paranoia of adolescence.
November clinched the Best Script award at the Singapore Short Film Awards this year, and has been nominated for the Golden Reel, an award for the best short film, at the 31st Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival in 2015. The film, which premiered at the 2014 Singapore International Film Festival, also won awards for Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Direction at this year’s inaugural National Youth Film Awards.
